Post By: Adrian Howard
Overview Of Destructive Storms:
Yesterday was a very rocky afternoon for Indiana, Ohio, northern Kentucky, west Virginia, Virginia, northern North Carolina, The District Of Columbia, Maryland Delaware and extreme southern Pennsylvania, as a destructive derecho complex of storms moved through these areas. As storms developed into Indiana, they rapidly intensified into a complex of storms, which when environmental conditions were favorable, developed into a destructive MCC-Mesoscale Covective Complex or derecho straight-line wind event. When these events evolve, usually there is widespread damage and destruction from damaging to destructive winds. Hundreds of miles of territory were covered by this destructive wind event, as numerous trees and powerlines are down across these entire states.
